Vukuzakhe High School

about us

our history

Vukuzakhe has come a long way since opening its doors in 1971. Initially the school's curriculum only offered subjects in the general stream, three languages and the humanities. Over the years the curriculum has broadened to include commerce, science, technical training, agricultural science, maritime studies and information technology. Numerous leaders in various sectors within South Africa have passed through the halls of Vukuzakhe High School. These include amongst others Sandile Zungu, Dr Nhlanhla Msomi, Thabani Zulu and Vuyo Mkhize. In recognition of Vukuzakhe's excellence in education, the school was honoured with a visit from the late Queen Elizabeth ll in 1995. The school continues to thrive for academic excellence in the midst of socio economic challenges that are faced by learners.
