PAST EVENTS

Vukuzakhe High School is deeply appreciative of the dedicated service provided by its active Alumni Association (VHSAA). The VHSAA has significantly contributed to the school’s success through multiple generous donations. In addition, the association convenes regular general meetings, underscoring their commitment to supporting the school’s governance and ensuring it is well-equipped to flourish.

The VHSAA will be holding its Annual General Meeting via MS TEAMS on the 22nd JULY 2023 from 16:00 – 17:30.

A HEARTFELT FAREWELL TO MR JB MBONAMBI: A BEACON OF HOPE RETIRES

Yesterday, we bid a fond farewell to Mr. Mbonambi, a truly exceptional educator who has dedicated his career to shaping the minds and futures of our learners. After many years of unwavering commitment, Mr. Mbonambi is embarking on a well-deserved retirement.

As an English First Additional Language and Technology teacher, Mr. Mbonambi’s impact has been profound. His dedication to excellence was evident in every lesson, every project, and every interaction.

His belief in his students’ potential was unwavering, and he consistently encouraged them to strive for their best. He created a supportive and engaging learning environment where every learner felt valued and empowered.

His infectious enthusiasm will be deeply missed. He has left an indelible mark on our school community, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations of learners to come.

We wish Mr. Mbonambi all the best in his retirement. May it be filled with joy, relaxation, and the fulfillment of all his dreams. Thank you, JB, for your dedication, your passion, and your unwavering belief in your students. You will be greatly missed.

VUKUZAKHE HIGH SCHOOL CELEBRATES MATRIC 2024 SUCCESS

On the 18th of January, Vukuzakhe High School hosted a special event to honor the outstanding academic achievements of the Matric class of 2024. The event was a testament to the tireless efforts of both the dedicated teachers and the hard-working learners who consistently strive for excellence. The celebration was attended by esteemed guests, including Vukuzakhe High School alumni who are pioneers in their respective fields. 

This year’s celebration was particularly significant as it embodied the school’s 2024 theme: “Never let good enough be good enough.”  This mantra resonated throughout the year, inspiring both staff and students to push their boundaries and achieve beyond expectations. The event showcased the remarkable accomplishments of the graduating class, highlighting individual successes and the school’s overall academic growth. Vukuzakhe High School extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Matric class of 2024 and wishes them all the best in their future endeavors. 

MATRIC CLASS OF 2024 ACHIEVES PHENOMENAL 97% PASS RATE

The air is filled with jubilation at Vukuzakhe High School as we celebrate the extraordinary achievement of our Matric Class of 2024! They have triumphed, securing an outstanding 97% pass rate in their final examinations. This remarkable result is more than just a statistic; it’s a powerful narrative of late-night study sessions, unwavering focus, and the collaborative spirit that defines our school. This achievement, built on hard work and dedication, is a testament to our learners’ resilience and our teachers’ unwavering commitment.

2023 prefects' induction

This year at Vukuzakhe we inducted our first group of prefects after our alumni Mr Thabane Zulu class of 1999 committed himself to supporting the growth and development of learners as leaders. As a school we strongly believe in giving learners a chance to develop their leadership capabilities.  twenty prefects were inducted on this special day and each of them were given a blazer so they can stand out as leaders in the school.

We strongly believe in celebrating the achievement of our learners. Every term, the Top 10 of each  grade is awarded certificates during school assembly. Kubongwa okuncane, kubongwe nokukhulu. These are the top 10 achievers for Term 3.

A fitting send off for our class of 2022. We are proud of being part of the high school journey of our matriculants. We wish them all the best for their final exams. We hope that they continue to shine as bright as the stars as they will begin a new phase of their lives next year, 

heritage day celebrations

Heritage Day on September 24 is a day that celebrates South Africa’s roots, their rich, vibrant, and diverse cultures. South Africa is called the ”Rainbow Nation” due to its color and diversity, and this is why Heritage Day exists. To celebrate heritage day. The school had an inter-class dance competition. j

netball tournament

June 16 Youth event hosted by VHS . This was a netball and soccer tournament with neighboring schools

visit from Cadets

Cadets from Massachusetts Maritime Academy visited Maritime students on 21 June 2022. They got a chance chat to our leaners about Maritime, the talk was both informative and educational for our learners. 

scout's camp

Scouts camps at Fish Eagle 26- 30 June 2022. Scout are one of the extra-curricular activities that our leaners participate it. The camp gave our leaners the opportunity to explore the outdoors while learning valuable life skills.
